Locator Guys Terms of Service
Effective Date: 28 May 2026 – These terms apply to all purchases and interactions with Locator Guys as of this date. By visiting our website, requesting a quote, purchasing products, or receiving training or support services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.
1 Overview of Our Business
Locator Guys is a division of C&S Solutions that supplies professional‑grade underground utility locating equipment and related accessories. Our product lines include electromagnetic locators, magnetic locators, ground‑penetrating radar (GPR) systems, sewer inspection cameras, sondes and transmitters, rodder/jetting equipment, and accessories. We represent leading manufacturers such as Radiodetection, Schonstedt, Prototek, Harben, Hathorn, Aries, Insight Vision, Jameson, Electric Eel, RIDGID, and Milwaukee. We also provide free on‑site demonstrations, lifetime training, loaner equipment, and 24/7 support across the United States from our facility in Southern Ohio.
2 Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order or otherwise engaging with Locator Guys, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these Terms of Service. These terms may be updated periodically; we will post updates on our website. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
3 Product Information and Orders
Quotations and Pricing: All product descriptions, specifications, and pricing are subject to change without notice. Quotations issued by Locator Guys are valid for the time period stated on the quote; if no expiration date is listed, the quote is valid for 30 days. Prices do not include applicable sales taxes, duties, or shipping charges unless expressly stated.
Order Placement: Orders may be placed online. Orders are not binding on Locator Guys until we confirm acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including but not limited to unavailability of product, errors in pricing, or suspected fraud.
Payment: Payment terms will be stated on your invoice or quote. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due at the time of order. We accept major credit cards and certain financing options. Past‑due amounts may accrue interest at 1.5 % per month. You agree to pay our reasonable attorney’s fees and collection costs if we must enforce payment.
4 Shipping and Delivery
Shipping Methods: We arrange shipment through reputable carriers. We will select the method based on the size and weight of the items and the destination. Shipping and handling charges will be added to your invoice unless otherwise specified.
Transit Times: We strive to ship orders promptly after payment clears, but delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, acts of God, labor disputes, supply‑chain disruptions, or events beyond our control.
Title and Risk of Loss: Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier accepts the shipment. Please inspect deliveries promptly upon receipt. For freight shipments, do not sign the carrier’s delivery receipt until you have inspected the equipment for damage. Report freight damage to both the carrier and Locator Guys within 48 hours of delivery, providing photographs of the damage and packaging; once a large unit is uncrated, it is not eligible for return.
5 Free Training, Support, Loaner Equipment, and Repairs
Training: We offer free on‑site training for the lifetime of the equipment. Training ensures your team can operate and maintain the equipment safely and effectively. Training dates and locations must be coordinated in advance.
24/7 Support and Loaners: Our technicians provide phone support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If your equipment requires repair, we will make reasonable efforts to provide loaner equipment for the life of your product, subject to availability and at our discretion.
Repairs: We service and repair the products we sell. Some repairs may be handled through the original manufacturer’s warranty (see Section 7). You are responsible for shipping the product to us (or the manufacturer) and for return shipping unless otherwise agreed.
6 Returns and Refunds
Our return policy is designed to be fair and transparent. Because specialty locating equipment is a significant investment, we require that you understand and follow these procedures.
Return Window: You must request a return within 30 days of the delivery date. The return window begins the day the carrier confirms delivery. Requests submitted after 30 days cannot be accepted.
Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Required: All returns require an RMA number issued by Locator Guys before the item is shipped back. Contact us with your order number, the item being returned, and the reason for return to obtain an RMA. Items shipped back without an RMA will be refused and returned at your expense.
Condition Requirements: To qualify for a return, items must be in original, resalable condition; in the original manufacturer packaging with all foam, inserts, and protective materials; accompanied by all accessories, cables, batteries, manuals, and documentation; and free of field use, mud, scratches, wear, or tampering. Equipment that has been deployed in the field or shows signs of use cannot be returned.
Restocking Fees: Unopened items in original packaging will not incur a restocking fee. Opened but unused items in resalable condition are subject to a 20 % restocking fee. Items showing any field use or wear are not eligible for return. Restocking fees reflect costs passed through from our manufacturer partners.
Return Shipping: If you return an item due to buyer’s remorse, ordering the wrong item, or no longer needing it, you are responsible for return shipping, insurance, and any freight charges. If the return is due to our error or the item arrives defective, we will cover return shipping and provide a prepaid label. We strongly recommend insuring return shipments; we are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
Non‑Returnable Items: Certain items are final sale and cannot be returned under any circumstances. These include: (a) sondes that have been deployed into a sewer line, drain or underground pipe (once used they are considered a biohazard); (b) custom or special‑order items; (c) demo or refurbished units, “as‑is” or clearance items; (d) software, firmware and digital downloads; (e) calibration services and labor charges; (f) opened consumables such as jetter nozzles, hoses, reels, fittings, sonde batteries and replacement parts that have been installed or used; and (g) items damaged by misuse, neglect, improper installation, unauthorized repair or failure to follow manufacturer instructions.
Large Equipment and Trailer Jetters: Due to their size and weight, large GPR carts, trailer‑mounted jetters, skid units, and vehicle‑mounted systems are subject to special rules. Once a unit has been delivered and uncrated, it is not eligible for return. Freight damage must be reported to the carrier and Locator Guys within 48 hours of delivery with photographs. Any approved return of a large or freight item requires customer‑arranged, customer‑paid return freight and applicable manufacturer restocking fees.
Defective Items and Manufacturer Warranty: Every product we sell is backed by the original manufacturer’s warranty. For defective equipment, calibration issues or repairs, contact the manufacturer directly; they have the parts and technicians needed to diagnose and repair the unit. We are happy to assist you in identifying the correct manufacturer contact. If equipment arrives non‑functional out of the box, contact us within 5 business days, and we will work with you and the manufacturer to arrange a replacement or repair.
Refunds: Once your returned item is received and inspected, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days and issued to the original payment method. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 3–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement. Original outbound shipping charges are non‑refundable except in cases of our error or defective‑on‑arrival equipment.
Return Procedure: To start a return: (1) contact Locator Guys with your order number and the reason for return; (2) receive your RMA number and return instructions; (3) pack the item securely in its original packaging with all accessories; (4) ship the item with the RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the box; and (5) once received and inspected, we will process your refund within 5–7 business days.
7 Manufacturer Warranties
Each manufacturer has its own warranty terms covering defects in materials and workmanship. You are responsible for understanding the warranty that applies to your product. We will provide contact information for the relevant manufacturer upon request. Manufacturer warranties do not cover misuse, neglect, improper installation, or normal wear and tear. Locator Guys provides a complimentary three‑year warranty on select products; details are available on request.
8 Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer of Warranties
Equipment Use: Locator Guys sells professional‑grade equipment intended for use by trained personnel. Improper use of locating, GPR, or jetting equipment can cause property damage, personal injury, or service interruptions. You are responsible for ensuring that operators are trained and that all safety guidelines, local regulations, and 811 call‑before‑you‑dig requirements are followed.
Disclaimer of Warranties: Except as expressly stated in these Terms or in the applicable manufacturer warranty, Locator Guys disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that our website or services will be uninterrupted or error‑free.
Limitation of Liability: In no event will Locator Guys or C&S Solutions be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your purchase or use of our products or services, including but not limited to loss of profits, downtime, property damage, or personal injury. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product or service giving rise to the claim.
9 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Locator Guys, C&S Solutions and our affiliates, directors, employees and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (a) your purchase or use of our products; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your misuse of the equipment; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
10 Use of Website and Intellectual Property
Our website and its content (including text, images, logos, videos, and downloadable materials) are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual‑property laws. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to our website or systems. Any account login credentials must be kept confidential, and you are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
11 Third‑Party Links and Brands
Our website may contain links to third‑party sites and references to third‑party brands (such as the manufacturers we represent). These links and brands are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for the content or policies of those sites. Inclusion of a third‑party brand or link does not imply endorsement or affiliation other than as an authorized reseller or service center.
12 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict‑of‑laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your purchase of products shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of these courts. Before initiating litigation, the parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute through informal negotiation.
13 Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in force. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Locator Guys regarding your purchase and use of our products and services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications.
